Status: Hourly DEO (non-exempt)
Reports to: Labor Resource Manager

Key Responsibilities:
- Exemplify and promote Extreme Customer Service to clients and co-workers
- Typify AAVC Core Values
- Works nights, weekends, holidays, split shifts, as well as very early mornings and late nights
- Drives 26’ truck to and from show site
- Primary duty is to serve as a show technician for AAVC events within our hotels, resorts, as well as in Team Staging (our national staging company)
- Lead others in set-up, operate, and dismantle audio-visual equipment
- Travel frequently
- Assume duties of co-workers throughout company including supervisor when assigned
- Resolve customer complaints in a timely manner
- Actively pursues high scores in customer surveys
- Negotiates with vendors in AAVC’s best interest
- Supports Director in developing cost savings strategy and makes recommendations to immediate supervisor
- Promotes and creates a safe work environment
- Attend AAVC training classes.
- Continually maintains professional and polished image under all circumstances
- Prepares r2 documents for tracking, reporting, and inventory purposes
- Supports Director in loss, damage, or theft prevention strategy
- Promotes AAVC as a company by building personal rapport with hotel management, staff, and hotel chain whenever possible
Summary of Experience:
- High School or GED. Some college preferred. AAVC may consider equivalent work experience in lieu of academic credentials
- Minimum of two (2) years serving in a technical capacity in an AAVC property (preferably Five Star Five Diamond rating)
- Twelve (12) months supervisory experience preferred
- Has received AAVC certification in the following areas: 1) The American Academy; 2) at least two of the following Essentials workshops: Basic Audio, Basic Video, Basic Lighting, PowerPoint, Project Management, Basic Sales
- Background in music, recording, audio-visual, computers and/or proficient in related technology highly preferred
- Has demonstrated sufficient time serving in a similar position within the company to warrant a promotion to Show Technician. Exhibits leadership potential, proven technical proficiency, dependability, and company loyalty. Demonstrates maturity, safety, problem-solving capability, and thorough knowledge of AAVC policies and procedures.

- Health Card for interstate transport (requires drug testing)
- Ability to back up and maneuver a 26’ truck within large cities throughout the United States

Physical Demands:
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds as needed.
- Must be able to drive a vehicle for up to 6 hours a day or more. Walking and standing are required the rest of the working day.
- Must have finger dexterity to be able to operate office equipment such as computers, printers, 10-key adding machines, multi-line telephones, filing cabinets, fax machines, copiers and other office equipment as well as audio visual equipment such as computers, projectors, audio mixers, lighting controllers, projection screens, scaffolding and other audio visual equipment as needed.
- Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment.
- Requires sitting, standing, walking, stooping, climbing, crawling, grasping, writing, repetitive motions, bending, listening, and hearing ability and visual acuity. Length of time at these tasks varies from day to day and task to task.
- Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors and subordinates.
- Vision occurs continuously with the visual functions being those of far vision and depth perception.
- Work is performed indoors and outdoors. Temperature is controlled indoors by hotel environmental systems. Outdoor temperatures vary by season, can be colder than 30 degrees in winter, and can exceed 115 degrees in summer.
